Easter this year was not normal due to Ray's surprise party. We saw friends and family on Friday night and Saturday morning, and had house guests through Sunday afternoon, so we didn't go to Birmingham for lunch and egg hunting like we usually would. Cooper did, however, get to color eggs and both boys did some hunting. And we had some help - which was pretty cool!

We didn't think that the boiling water and dye tablets were a great idea for a 3 year old (and honestly, I don't think I had quite that much patience in the middle of this crazy weekend) so on Saturday afternoon we broke out some crayons, bunches of stickers, and the little egg dye holder thingies and had a some fun. Aunt Sarah went to town with the pink and purple crayons, Cooper stuck to yellow and bunches of stickers, and of course - I did an orange and blue egg. Crayons work pretty well on eggs... not quite the dramatic effect that the dye has, but we had a good time!

On Sunday afternoon (after we got the boys back from my parents and they took a good nap) we got our Easter Baskets and went egg hunting. Ray hid the eggs while they were asleep, then we realized that there were prize eggs out there with chocolate in them... and it was 79 degrees outside. So, we found them Fast!

Such a Terrible cheesy smile!!!!! My favorite part of that day: the boys found the eggs really fast and Ray asked them if they'd like him to hide them again so they could hunt some more. They said yes, of course, and sat on the porch by the back door facing into the house while Ray ran around and created a more sophisticated egg hunt for them. It's all about the challenge, you know. When he was done - they had gotten distracted and decided they didn't feel like hunting eggs anymore! HA! So, now there are still plastic eggs all over our back yard, and before he cuts the grass, he'll have to go on his own egg hunt! :-)

Also, Uncle Bryan and Ray had some fun with Cooper and a few fake mustaches. I don't really know how to describe this situation, so you can just see for yourself.
